Agreement with Milad Webb, M.D., P.A. (14977) for Medical Examiner Services - 26-00109

Fiscal Note:
Alachua County is responsible for a portion of the cost of the operation of the Medical Examiner’s

Office based on the percentage of deaths for the prior fiscal year. The proposed interim Medical Examiner has requested to contract with Alachua County as the host agency and Alachua County will enter interlocal agreement with the other counties served by District 8. Currently, Alachua County is responsible for approximately 63.5% of the total expenses. The contract cost for the entire District for the period 03/23/2026 – 9/30/26 is $1,087,802.48 of which Alachua County’s share is $690,754.58. The existing budget will be used until a mid-year budget amendment is necessary. A new agreement will be developed and negotiated for FY27 and beyond.

Fiscal Note:
The collection of curbside solid waste is funded through a non-ad valorem assessment. There is $5,133,721.00 budgeted in account 148.76.7600.534.43.00 for expenses attributed to this collection agreement.

Fiscal Note:
Local Sports Destination Enhancement grants are funded by the third penny of Tourist Development

Tax collections. The total award amount for the FY26 grants is $147,356.89.

Make the legislative factual determination that the events, venues, and activities recommended for funding have as one of their main purposes the attraction of tourists as evidenced and as set forth in their respective applications, and that each grant award is primarily related to the advancement and promotion of tourism.
