$24 million estimated annually. A total of 409 teachers and 13 technicians who maintain classroom technology are full or partially funded through the one mill. The teachers supported through the One Mill represent about 20% of all teachers in Alachua County Public Schools

    Direct staff to provide to the Supervisor of Elections for inclusion on the November ballot, as directed by the School Board of Alachua County, a Ballot Initiative to renew their existing One Mill Ad Valorem Tax for four years for necessary operating expenses

    Authorize the Chair to sign the Letter Agreement and Reconveyance Deed authorizing the Government Services Administration to market the property located at 4500 SE 122d Terrace for sale to the public in the ordinary manner under the Property Act for the disposal of surplus federal property. Authorize the County Manager to complete and sign the Property checklist.

Fiscal Note:
If the High Springs -Shires property is acquired, the county will receive grant funding from the State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection. A budget amendment is needed to account for use of unanticipated revenues in the amount of $190,575. This is a reimbursement grant to cover a portion of expenses of the potential purchase of the property. Additional partner funding may be necessary to meet the 50% bargain share funding requirement (pending property appraisal).


If the property is acquired, both the acquisition expenses and the grant reimbursement revenue will be associated with the Wild Spaces Public Places fund as follows:

    2.Adopt the Resolution to recognize unanticipated revenue from the grant award (Exhibit 5) and approve the attached Budget Amendment for unanticipated revenue for the grant award and project budget (Exhibit 2); and

    3.Authorize the County Manager to execute all related documents and amendments as needed to receive grant approval and administer the grant, except any contract to purchase a conservation easement shall require BOCC approval.

This is a unit price and the total cost to the County will vary with the amount and type of E-Scrap collected and recycled. The estimated cost for Fiscal Year 2024 (FY24) is $133,000.00 and is reflected in the FY24 budget.

Fiscal Note:
Approval of the resolution includes budget amendment increasing budget by $568,862 in FDOT Grant Fund in account 329.79.7910.541.63.01 which has the description of Infrastructure Sidewalks/trails/signals. This is for the estimated cost of intersection improvements.

The applicant paid $250 to start the SAD process which is intended to cover costs such as the advertising costs. The check was deposited in the Gas Tax Uses Fund and expenses would be paid from account 149.79.7910.541.49.00 which has the description of other charges and obligations.

    Adopt the proposed resolution authorizing the advertisement of a Public Hearing to consider the establishment of a Special Assessment District to use an alternative surface treatment on Quail Street and Notice of Intent to use the uniform method for collecting non-ad valorem assessments. Authorize the Chair to sign the Resolution.

Fiscal Note:
There are recording costs for the Drainage Easement and exhibits in the amount of $265, these cost would be paid from Gas Tax Uses Fund from account 149.79.7910.541.49.00 which has the description of other charges and obligations.

The appraisal reports for the two properties are $3,000.00.


Title search and examination fees for the two properties are approximately $2,000.00.


The title insurance premiums for the two properties are $4,350.00.


The recording fees are approximately $60.00.


The total cost to purchase the two properties is approximately $849,410.00.


The county match is budgeted in account 001.79.7900.541.61.00 project #2247902 and the grant is budgeted in 134.79.7920.541.61.00 project #2247902 with both having the account description of land.

    Approve the acquisition of the properties located at 10002 NW 25th Place (06236-002-000) and 10012 NW 25th Place (06236-003-000) in Alachua County, Florida for demolition and use as a storm water basin, authorize the Chair to sign the Purchase Agreements, acceptance of the Deeds, Dedication to Public Use and Declaration of Restrictive Covenants, and any other documents, approved by the County Attorney, necessary to complete the acquisitions.

Fiscal Note:
The purchase price of the property is $8,000.00. Recording fees for the deed will be less than $50.00. Funds are budgeted in FY24 in the special expense division in account 001.04.0490.519.61.00 in the account description of land.
