An in-person Public Comment period follows all non-ministerial motions. There are two General Comment periods: Noon and 5:30 p.m. (or at the end of the morning meeting if there is no evening meeting).  Members of the public may only speak during one of the two designated General Comment periods.  At Noon, commenters may be in person or call in. Commenters have 3 minutes for agenda items and 3 minutes for non-agenda matters. Those addressing agenda items can't comment again when that item comes up.

    Authorize staff to continue planning and collaborative efforts toward implementation of the strategies outlined in the Plan.

    Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners approve Z25-000028 with the bases as listed in the staff report.

Fiscal Note:
Unanticipated revenues will increase the revenue account for interest: 142.00.0000.361.1410 by $700,000 and increase the expenditure line account in Housing by $210,000 in account 142.29.2968.554.63.98 with the account description of Infrastructure Improvements Other than Building and the expenditure line in Transportation by $490,000 in account 142.79.7950.541.63.99 with the account description of Infrastructure Other Infrastructure

    Approve resolution for unanticipated revenues which includes budget amendment increasing revenues and expenditures in the Surtax Fund for Transportation and Housing

    Adopt the adjusted FY26 Fee Schedule

The costs associated with those cases being initiated are listed. Sufficient budget exists to cover this expense.

  • Recommended Action:

    Approve the County Attorney’s authority to initiate or defend the cases in the attached list.

Fiscal Note:
BoCC match will not exceed the City of Gainesville’s allocated $2,333,333.00 in joint Infrastructure partnership project funding. 142.00.0000.541.81.40 (aid to government agencies )

  • Recommended Action:

    Pursuant to Ordinance 2022-08, approve the attached Surtax Grant Application submitted by the City of Gainesville, and authorize the Alachua County Chair and Clerk to execute the grant agreement attached to this agenda item.

Fiscal Note:
Total estimated cost for acquisition and 10-year stewardship: $680,550


(Negotiated acquisition cost will be determined based on appraisals.)


The current annual property tax revenue of all the project parcels is: $12,713.74


Purchase and maintenance would be funded from the Wild Spaces Public Places surtax.

  • Recommended Action:

    Approve the Grant Agreement, Adopt the Resolution, Approve the Budget Amendment, and authorize and interfund loan not to exceed $16,500.00.

Fiscal Note:
The total amount requested for this grant is $1,543,500, including $1,234,800 in Federal Funding and $308,700 in Local Match, with Local Match coming from the County’s NW District Mobility Fee in account: 354.79.7910.541.63.99 with the description of Infrastructure.

  • Recommended Action:

    Authorize signature authority to the County Manager or designee to submit BUILD Planning grant application for funding and other required forms to apply for the BUILD Planning grant, including any modifications.

Fiscal Note:
The FY26 Public Works budget funds in the Sales Tax Infrastructure Category to cover this increase, budget in account 142.79.7950.541.53.00 (road materials and supplies).

  • Recommended Action:

    Approve the issuance of Change Order 2 to Blanket Purchase Order 26-941 with Preferred Materials Inc., in the amount of $184,500.00. The revised Blanket Purchase Order is $334,500.00.

Court Services has budgeted $2,500,000.00 in account 001.36.3661.529.31.60 (professional services medical)

    Approve and authorize the Chair to execute the First Amendment to Agreement 13331 with Wellpath LLC, for Medical Care Claims for Arrestees or Detainees of Alachua County Law Enforcement and the County Jail.
