    Approve the City of Newberry’s application for Municipal Partnership Program surtax grant funding for WSPP grant funding in an amount not to exceed $133,333; authorize County staff to finalize the Grant Agreements using the attached Form Grant Agreement, and upon approval from the County Attorney’s Office authorize the Alachua County Chair and Clerk to sign the Grant Agreements.

Fiscal Note:
The expansion of services into 6 counties will be funded with WIOA and other grant allocations traditionally allocated to CareerSource.

    Approve the material terms of the Six County CareerSource Interlocal Agreement and authorize a Chair Letter to transmit the agreement to the other five counties.

    Approve Amendment 117 and Resolution for Unanticipated Revenue

Fiscal Note:
Alachua County is responsible for a portion of the cost of the operation of the Medical Examiner’s


Office based on the percentage of deaths for the prior fiscal year. The proposed interim Medical Examiner has requested to contract with Alachua County as the host agency and Alachua County will enter interlocal agreement with the other counties served by District 8. Currently, Alachua County is responsible for approximately 63.5% of the total expenses. The contract cost for the entire District for the period 4/11/24 – 9/30/24 is $1,684,673 of which Alachua County share is $886,921. This represents a $218,673 increase for all counties. The existing budget will be used until a mid-year budget amendment is necessary.

Total estimated cost for acquisition and 10-year stewardship: $334,256


The current annual property tax revenue of all the project parcels is: $417.48


Purchase and maintenance would be funded from either the 2016 Wild Spaces Public Places surtax (fund 021.41.4160.537) or the Conservation Lands portion of the new infrastructure surtax (fund 140.41.4160.537).

    Recommend appointment of Michael Rubenstein to the Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Board with a term ending August 31, 2024.

Fiscal Note:
No additional budget impact as the existing employee will retain their current salary, though the funding allocation will change. 


This position was originally funded 100% by ARPA, then as duties expanded, the funding expanded to include Fund 001- general fund and Fund 008-MSTU. This final shift to a permanent position shifts the funding to be 75% Fund 008-MSTU and 25% Fund 001-General Fund, consistent with most other Parks & Open Space positions.

    Approve and authorize the Chair to execute the Sole Source and Addendum Agreement 14078 with Teleflex LLC., NTE $90,000.00 annually.

Fiscal Note:
Account 001.19.1919.529.46.00 has $1,822,523 budgeted, of which Project 8201911-FY23-WaterSystem - The Jail, FY23 Allocation, Domestic Water System Repairs has $500,000.00 available. This will allow for the $90,902.59 expenditure for the Jail Pods G and H Painting Project. Painting of the Jail Pods are to address issues associated with repairing damages of the Jail Water System.

    Approve the issuance of a purchase order to Five12 Painting and Remodeling LLC, in the amount of $90,902.59.

The FY24 Public Works Budget funds in the operating category to cover this increase. Limerock materials is budgeted in account 149.79.7900.541.53.00 in the operating category under the description of road materials and supplies.

    Adopt a Resolution approving the conveyance of a Public Utility Easement to the City and authorize the Chair to sign the Easement, Resolution and any other documents approved by the County Attorney that are necessary to complete the conveyance.
