The meeting was called to order at 5:31 p.m.

Carol Velasques Richardson made a motion to approve the agenda as presented; Lucia Curta second; unanimous approval; motion carried.

The consensus was to update

  • the Registration Form to include
    • What are you looking to achieve by attending this conference?
    • How did you hear about this conference? and
    • What is your artistic medium?
  • the Sponsor Form to include a $150 SWAG sponsorship category

The Council wished to re-advertise the Call for Presentations and approved sessions as proposed by Jessica Hurov, Evan Rees, and Felicia Walton.  They also requested staff reach out to attorney Thomas McThenia for an AI intellectual property copyright presentation.

The Tax Collector's Office will wear provided t-shirts periodically; rack cards were printed for their lobbies; their website and lobby televisions display a banner all promoting art tag sales.  The consensus of the Council was to proceed with the WUFT Greater Good video.  Staff will work with them to film the video on Feb. 5 at 4 p.m.

The Fire Station 80 "Lady Firefighter" sculpture is nearing completion and is expected to be unveiled at the Fire Station's grand opening ceremony in the coming weeks.

The Fire Station 21 "Bunker Gear" sculpture is anticipated at the end of this calendar year.

Staff has been working with the City of Gainesville on the required interlocal agreement for the project.  Artist, Turbado Marabou, voiced concerns about the project, so staff will invite Serit Sela to our Feb. 5 meeting to provide clarification.
