Call to Order

 

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM.

Review of the Agenda

 

Gerie Crawford motioned to approve the agenda as presented. The motion was seconded by Tara Richardson with unanimous approval; motion carried.

Approval of Minutes

Gerie Crawford motioned to adopt the minutes as presented. The motion was seconded by Diane Dimperio with the correction of the date for the June meeting corrected. The motion passed with unanimous approval; motion carried.  

4.
Equity Audit Discussion

 

Dr. Diedre Houchen and the EAB reviewed the Equity and Demographic Analysis and Community Engagement sections of the Equity Audit Tool. In the future, the EAB would like to receive the comments made by the Comprehensive Planning Team by email prior to their monthly meeting to review and be prepared.  Those were the only comments on this month’s audit.

Departmental Orientation

 

Assistant County Manager and Chief of Staff, Gina Peebles presented an overview of the departments under their purview: Accreditation, CareerSource, Commission Services, County Manager’s Office, Equal Opportunity, ITS, Parks and Open Space, UF/IFAS Extension-Alachua County, and Visit Gainesville, Alachua County, FL.

Membership Discussion

 

Tara Richardson would like to be a voting member and the EAB has put forth her name for regular membership. We will maintain two alternates on the EAB.  

No comments on previous month's presentation from Missy Daniels.

Announcements

 

The next meeting of the Equity Advisory Board is July 18, 2024, at 6:00 PM, Grace Knight Conference Room.
